Majestic 1963, Nandanam

A late night dinner around 11PM with a friend. Not too many choices on the way back home, decided to try Majestic 1963 in Nandanam, right next to the Audi showroom. Continue reading

Hotel Pandia’s, Royapuram

After looking at the mouth-watering food pictures from Hotel Pandia’s in food groups, added it to my to-do list right away! Yes, I am referring to their branches in North Madras – apparently, there are two outlets in Royapuram and one in Washermanpet. Its only two or three times I have come to this part of the city. Not quite sure with the directions, after enquiring with a couple of auto drivers, spotted one in Cemetry Road in Royapuram, and decided to try! Since they were all the same brand, didn’t feel the need to go all the way to Washermanpet. Continue reading

The Red Box, Velachery

Recently on one of my drives from Velachery to Taramani, spotted this bright red place called The Red Box, serving Chinese food. I added it to my bucket list, but didn’t quite expect I’d get an opportunity to try it so soon. Its a either home-delivery or takeaway only, and no dine-in! Continue reading

E. Sait Biriyani Center, Tambaram

Same starting point, but a different path today! Standing in front of the same name boards M. K. N. Madurai Idly Kadai and E. Sait Biriyani Center, as we did yesterday, we opted for Biryani today.   I have already been to their outlet in Chrompet, so I am aware of how their biryani tastes. Continue reading

Hotel Runs, Adayar

A simple no-frills place which gets its basics right! I have been here a few times, but that was many years ago. As I had some work in Adayar, dropped in for a quick dinner. Continue reading

The Cycle Gap, Anna Nagar

Finally managed to visit this upscale bar, restobar, pub, however you’d like to call it, The Cycle Gap in Anna Nagar is the new happening place, and one of its kind in that locality. Last two weeks have been a bit busy, hence this review comes a couple of weeks late. Continue reading

Paradise, Perungudi

The mere mention of the word ‘Biryani’ stirs emotions, in a positive way! With so many different styles of biryani based on geography, people get very possessive about ‘their’ style. In fact one of the quotes that I’ve heard from the food circles sums it up nicely – ‘One man’s biryani is another man’s tomato rice‘ ! Continue reading

Orange Wok, Velachery

Its been quite sometime that I blogged about my eating out, decided to write again!
This time, it was a quick visit to Orange Wok, in Velachery. We had just about an hour and a half before meeting someone, and didn’t want to venture too far away from Velachery. Remembered Orange Wok in the vicinity, decided to give it a shot! Continue reading

Cha Republic, Velachery

I’m not a big fan of this anymore, used to like it a few times when it was introduced in Chennai, way back in 2014, and then it got a bit monotonous. Its basically a drink with black tapioca pearls in it. I had to give in to kids’ demands after shopping, stepped into an empty store for drinks and side-eats. Continue reading
