We had some work to finish in Purasawalkam and we didn’t expect it to drag until lunch time. Since we were quite hungry by then, decided to eat at the first restaurant we spotted. The first one was Hotel Saravana Bhavan, I let it pass. Second one was Adayar Ananda Bhavan, let that pass too. Third time’s a lucky charm they say, and sure it was! Spotted Welcome Hotel and stepped into it right away!
Remember many people in food groups going gaga over their Idly-Sambhar. I’ve heard people say their Idly-Sambhar is as good as the one that Ratna Cafe serves, in fact some think its even better!
Since were were there for lunch, I went in with a ‘normal’ meals in mind, but as soon as I saw a huge Chola-Poori (that’s how they called Chole Bature) I changed my mind.
Ordered a Chola Poori for myself and a Parotta-Kurma for my wife. Both tasted good. I ordered a Ghee Roast and this was also wonderful with nice aroma of ghee in each mouthful. The Chutneys were fresh and Sambhar was very tasty! Finished with a nice Filter Coffee.
Food was tasty and absolutely no complaints. Paid 211 bucks for these and totally worth it !
If you’re in and around Purasawalkam, head to Welcome Hotel and be assured of wonderful food ! 🙂
