Its been a very long time since I visited this place. I’ve blogged about my last and perhaps my only visit here. A friend and I were specifically looking for a vegetarian Thali in an around T. Nagar. Both of us being good eaters, we had made up our minds for an elaborate Thali from Shyam’s Bombay Halwa House.
The table was quite shabbily wiped which I had to point out and ask them to clean it, to which they willingly obliged, and the menu was not the cleanest I’ve seen, sticky and visibly unclean. Rest of the things were good. In spite of this I’ll rate this place 4 on a scale of 5, because of the tasty food and courteous service.
The Special Patiala Thali had 1 Soup, 1 Starter, 2 Subzis, 1 Dal, 1 Roti, 1 Kulcha, 1 Veg Pulav/Steamed Rice, 1 Chaas/Raita, salad, papad, pickle and 1 scoop of icecream/sweet.
We ordered for two of these thalis, and wherever there was customization, we ordered one of each, so we could taste all of it.
Food was tasty overall, paneer butter masala, methi malai corn, dal makhni tasted good with roti and kulcha. Only thing I could find fault with was the pulav. I felt that salt was sprinkled on top of it. Could clearly taste the granules here and there in every mouth, didn’t mix quite well. rest of it was fine. Overall, we relished the meal and would gladly recommend this if you’re looking for a good North-Indian vegetarian Thali in and around T. Nagar.
We paid 588 bucks in all, 280 for a Thali, which I felt was okay considering what was served.
