Flavours of Vietnam, Benjarong

I was invited to the Vietnamese Food Festival happening at Benjarong and frankly, I should say I was quite sceptical! This was because I do not eat sea-food and from what I remember, sea-food is a very important part of Vietnamese cuisine. I was assured that there was a nice balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and soon I was ready to try ! Somehow, In our place, Vietnamese cuisine is not as popular as their neighbouring cuisines, Chinese and Thai. While on the way to the restaurant, I was wondering if I knew anything more about Vietnam other than the badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh. Probably not 🙂 Continue reading

Namma Veetu Saapadu – Showcase

I have had a brief introduction with Namma Veetu Saapadu earlier in a CFG Showcase and have blogged about it here.  Since it was totally a seafood showcase, I did not taste their offering.  Namma Veetu Saapadu  recently celebrated their First Anniversary and Mr. Ramalingam Muthuswamy invited me to taste their Chicken gravy a.k.a Kozhi Kozhambu and offered to deliver it for lunch today. Zara Tapas Bar

I joined two very prominent food bloggers at the ‘Bloggers Meet for Sizzlers Fest’ at Zara. For those who are not familiar with this place, Zara is a Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant located on Radhakrishnan Salai in the same building as Copper Chimney and China Town. It is one of the most happening places in the city and it is very popular with the young crowd.  Zara hosts the Sizzlers Fest exclusively for the FIFA 2014 season with some wonderful sizzlers and lip-smacking desserts ! Zaitoon Velachery – CFG Showcase

This review is for the CFG Showcase at Zaitoon Velachery for which I was invited. I live very close to this restaurant, and have been seeing it since day one. I have also visited this place once and have reviewed it here. Why would I go to the same place again, and that too for a showcase? I was told we will be served dishes which are still not on the menu. They wanted a feedback about all the dishes that would soon ‘go live’ if I may say so 🙂 and that prospect was exciting.
