Dallay, Velachery

I’ve been here a few times now, and my last visit to this place was many months ago.  I’ve written about the place a few times and I’ve blogged about it here and here, so I’m not starting all over again ! In short, Dallay, is just opposite to Phoenix Market city in Velachery and serves Tibetan cuisine. Continue reading

Sree Gupta Bhavan, Velachery

Since the time Sree Gupta Bhavan opened on the 100 Feet Road in Velachery, I’ve always liked this place. A brighlty lit place is hard to miss when you drive on this road. We finished some work and decided to have lunch here as kids were feeling hungry. Continue reading

Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai, Thuraipakkam

As our first choice Thalaserry Corner Thattukada didn’t materialize, because it was closed, myself and a friend decided to head towards OMR to check out some nice place to have dinner. It was quite late in the night, around 10:30PM and unfortunately most of the places were in the shutting-down mode. Quite disappointed, we headed back towards Velachery, and thats when we spotted the bright, welcoming, busy place in Thuraipakkam – Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai.  We were delighted to say the least! Continue reading

Hotel Crescent, Nungambakkam

What better than a non-vegetarian breakfast on a Sunday Morning ! Most of the places I know serve Idiyappam and Mutton Paya for breakfast. Since I have restrictions by choice to eating red meat, my friend suggested that I should head to Hotel Crescent in Nungambakkam for tasty Kerala Chicken dishes. In spite of hearing about this place, haven’t been there ever, so decided to tick this place off my list. I should admit that I have a liking for Kerala food, so there was no looking back. Tryst Cafe, Neelangarai

A late, relaxed lunch with family was the plan for Pongal festival after puja and an elaborate breakfast at home. It was almost 3PM before we were even remotely close to being hungry. Decided to check out a place with an outdoor sitting. A few names popped up in my mind – Amethyst, Bella Ciao, Shiraz Art Cafe and Tryst Cafe. Few of these places closed around 3PM and 3:30PM and that wasn’t going to work! So wanted a place that was open for all-day dining ! Remembered a recent post from another foodie in one of the Facebook food groups, and immediately decided to try Tryst cafe, and I was glad I did! Continue reading

Sapthagiri Food Cart, Natesan Park, T Nagar

I have lost count of how many times I have eaten here, but till date, they dish out one of the best Nei(ghee) Podi Dosais in the city ! Based out of a Thalluvandi (foodcart), located adjacent to Natesan Park, diagonally opposite to Hotel Saravana Bhavan, Sapthagiri has withstood the test of time. Continue reading
