Pupil, Besant Nagar

An outing with the kids to Besant Nagar beach implied that we were going to eat dinner somewhere in the vicinity. Kids were quite particular about Pupil as we have already been there a couple of times and they always liked it. They were in no mood to visit a new place for the sake of my blogging, so I gave up ! Street Food Scene, Besant Nagar Beach

Myself and a friend decided to meet up in Besant Nagar beach this evening! The plan was to chat for sometime, eat food, and leave! It did sound a bit weird, I should admit. We’re used to catching up over a few drinks or a couple of beers followed by dinner, but since we had some work later on, we couldn’t start with a drink. So we had to be contended with just food. Y Cook, Besant Nagar

I have heard of the name Y Cook quite a few times on various food groups and this place has been on my list for very long ! Probably one of the very few places in Chennai serving Sri Lankan cuisine. I almost forgot about it until today, when myself and a friend from the US, were thinking of a place in and around Besant Nagar beach. Immediately remembered this one and decided to go here! Pabrai’s Fresh and Naturelle Ice Creams, Besant Nagar

A quick plan for a not-so-elaborate ice cream outing after the dinner at Tovo, decided to visit Pabrai’s Fresh and Naturelle Ice Creams, bang opposite to Pupil restauran in Besant Nagar beach. This has been on my to-do list for quite sometime and I decided to strike it off today. Continue reading

Jonah’s Bistro

A strong craving for burger today, and after a quick scan of FB food groups, short-listed 3 places – Jonah’s, Cheesy Juicy Burgers, and Brick House Bistro. I’m not saying they’re in the same league, but just 3 different options for BIG burgers ! Jonah’s Monster Burger caught my attention and I decided to give it a shot, just that I had to ask them to have the two beef patties replaced with chicken ! Continue reading

Pupil

For sometime, I have been staying away from the thick of things in food groups on Facebook, more as an honest attempt to shed off some extra pounds. So I have drasticaly reduced the frequency of eating out. Once in a while, I get sucked into the whirlpool of temptation and today was one such day! Family was bored and wanted to go out for dinner and I couldn’t be happier. Always, I get to decide the place to eat. After reading a couple of reviews of Pupil, I had already decided that was going to be my next target. Continue reading

Jonah’s Bistro

With new restaurants cropping up each day in almost every part of the city, I have been trying to write down the names of restaurants that I should visit at the first available opportunity. Considering the reviews and recommendations on a couple of food groups on Facebook, Jonah’s Bistro was in fact on the top of my list. After a hectic day at work, it was Friday evening and almost weekend, and a sudden decision to eat out and family was ready too. Jonah’s Bistro was obviously the first choice. Continue reading
