After looking at the mouth-watering food pictures from Hotel Pandia’s in food groups, added it to my to-do list right away! Yes, I am referring to their branches in North Madras – apparently, there are two outlets in Royapuram and one in Washermanpet. Its only two or three times I have come to this part of the city. Not quite sure with the directions, after enquiring with a couple of auto drivers, spotted one in Cemetry Road in Royapuram, and decided to try! Since they were all the same brand, didn’t feel the need to go all the way to Washermanpet. Continue reading
Amazing start to the day with Gujarati breakfast – Khaman, Khandvi, Fafda with Chutney and Kadhi, pyaaz kachori, Poori Subzi, and Jalebi. It couldn’t be any better! Continue reading
The moment I heard from a few friends in food circles that a place called Eating Circles opened in C P Ramaswamy Road, and it serves the typical Bengaluru/Mysuru Benne Dosa, I decided to check it out right away! It has been a long search in Chennai to get the same texture of Benne Dosa, the typical Bengaluru CTR and MTR types. I can say with confidence that this is the closest, that I have had in Chennai! Everytime I have been here, it has been the same story – a minimum wait of 30-35 minutes to get a table and a steady stream of customers. Has my opinion of the place changed? Not really! Rayar’s Mess located in Arundale Street, in Mylapore is what we’re talking about ! Continue reading
Weekend breakfast at Lloyds Tea House, a confusion of sorts ! Disappointed ! Continue reading
My good luck with Hotel Saravana Bhavan continues !
I have visited quite a few HSB outlets, and the ones that I frequent are Venkatnarayana Road and Alandur/Pazhavanthangal. In spite of all the complaints of drooping standards, mediocre food, etc, I have personally not faced anything worth complaining ! Yes, I am certainly of the opinion that they are pricey for the quantity they offer, but taste-wise, I’m quite satisfied. Continue reading
Since we had some work in RK Salai, wifey and I decided to have breakfast at Krishna restaurant in New Woodlands Hotel. Been there very long ago for a friend’s wedding reception. Never visited this place after that. Continue reading
Yummy, delicious breakfast in Attur!
Hotel Sri Gowri Sankar is located right next to the Bus Stand, opposite to the Periyar Statue. It had a bright board and was hard to miss. Through there seemed to be a few other restaurants around, somehow this was most prominent among them. Continue reading
What better than a non-vegetarian breakfast on a Sunday Morning ! Most of the places I know serve Idiyappam and Mutton Paya for breakfast. Since I have restrictions by choice to eating red meat, my friend suggested that I should head to Hotel Crescent in Nungambakkam for tasty Kerala Chicken dishes. In spite of hearing about this place, haven’t been there ever, so decided to tick this place off my list. I should admit that I have a liking for Kerala food, so there was no looking back.
