Kumarakom, Perungudi

Few things are just not meant to be, however hard you try to tweak the outcome! Continue reading

Kappa Chakka Kandhari, Nungambakkam

How can one review a Kerala restaurant without sampling their seafood and beef preparations? So I preferred to go along with a few other foodies, who are quite prominent in the Chennai Food Scene, with a palate for beef and seafood. So this review is a sort of a mix of opinions of a few individuals based on what each one sampled. Lets call them N, G, K and myself. Continue reading

Chandrasekar Biryani Center, Tambaram

Biryani craving on a Sunday is quite normal, and what does one do? Just give in, of course! Continue reading

Old Madras Baking Company, T. Nagar

New day, a new beginning! A friend and I decided to check out Old Madras Baking Company for breakfast as we were headed to T Nagar for some work. Only two of their outlets serve breakfast and T Nagar is one of them. Rest of the outlets are primarily bakeries, selling freshly baked goodies ! The moment I think of a typical breakfast with Bread, Eggs, Chicken and Black Coffee, I am literally transported back to my days in Oslo, Norway. Continue reading

Spices Kerala Restaurant, Perungudi

In spite of being active in food circles and closely watching newly opening restaurants, sometimes you miss something so obvious! That was exactly my feeling when I saw OMR Food Street coming up on M.G.R Salai, just opposite to RMZ Millennia Park. Absolutely had no clue of this until today. Continue reading

Eating Circles, Alwarpet

My second visit to Eating Circles, Alwarpet, this time with family. They relished the food as much as I did! I also tried a couple of dishes I missed last time. Continue reading

Nammaa Kitchen, Taramani

One of the fellow foodies in a Facebook food group recommended this place after I posted a review of Madras Takkar for Hyderabadi Biryani. Since then I have been waiting to visit Nammaa Kitchen, on the Velachery-Taramani Main Road. Today, myself and wifey had an opportunity to check this out. Continue reading

Rajdhani Thali Restaurant, Velachery

Rajdhani Thali Restaurant in Phoenix Market City is one of the nice options if you want to have a mix of Rajasthani & Gujarati cuisines in Chennai.  They’ve been having this promotion of ‘Tuesday Thali’ for quite sometime now, and the Thali is priced at 250 Rupees on all Tuesdays. I am not sure if this applies in all outlets, but the one in Phoenix Market City has it. This, I would definitely call a steal. Continue reading

Nasi Kandar Pelita, T. Nagar

Nasi Kandar Pelita, it used to be our regular lunch place during 2004-2005. Its been a while since I’ve been here !  The last time I was here was after watching the movie Kabali, and I wrote about it here. Continue reading

Pind, Velachery

A lunch outing with dad, and it had to be a vegetarian place. Since we had some plans after lunch, we wanted to eat somewhere in Velachery! We prefer North-Indian to South-Indian anyday, hence Sangeetha, Andhikkadai and the likes were struck off the list. We were left with Haven Sampoorna and Pind, somehow I am a little partial to Pind, just for that paneer! We stepped into Pind around 01:30PM. Continue reading
