Welcome Hotel, Purasawalkam

We had some work to finish in Purasawalkam and we didn’t expect it to drag until lunch time.  Since we were quite hungry by then, decided to eat at the first restaurant we spotted.  The first one was Hotel Saravana Bhavan, I let it pass.  Second one was Adayar Ananda Bhavan, let that pass too.  Third time’s a lucky charm they say, and sure it was! Spotted Welcome Hotel and stepped into it right away! Continue reading

Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai, Thuraipakkam

As our first choice Thalaserry Corner Thattukada didn’t materialize, because it was closed, myself and a friend decided to head towards OMR to check out some nice place to have dinner. It was quite late in the night, around 10:30PM and unfortunately most of the places were in the shutting-down mode. Quite disappointed, we headed back towards Velachery, and thats when we spotted the bright, welcoming, busy place in Thuraipakkam – Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai.  We were delighted to say the least! Hotel Crescent, Nungambakkam

In spite of hearing about this place, haven’t been there ever, so decided to tick this place off my list. I should admit that I have a liking for Kerala food, so there was no looking back. Y Cook, Besant Nagar

I have heard of the name Y Cook quite a few times on various food groups and this place has been on my list for very long ! Probably one of the very few places in Chennai serving Sri Lankan cuisine. I almost forgot about it until today, when myself and a friend from the US, were thinking of a place in and around Besant Nagar beach. Immediately remembered this one and decided to go here! Haven Sampoorna, Velachery

Haven Sampoorna is one of the very nice places for a vegetarian meal in Velachery and I’ve been there a few times already. On the occassion of my Daddy’s birthday, we decided to go here for lunch. Since it was meant to be vegetarian, didn’t think too much. Pind, Peaches and Haven Sampoorna were the places in my mind. Pind wasn’t easily accessible because of some road work, Peaches hasn’t been making any news lately, so decided to go to Haven Sampoorna instead ! Continue reading
