Yaa Mohaideen, Pallavaram

Around 10PM in the night, myself and a friend decided to catch up over dinner! This isn’t anything new for both of us, so it didn’t seem that late anyway. Partly because it was pending for quite sometime, and also because Biryani pictures were trending in a food group, we decided to give Yaa Mohaideen a shot ! Continue reading

Welcome Hotel, Purasawalkam

We had some work to finish in Purasawalkam and we didn’t expect it to drag until lunch time.  Since we were quite hungry by then, decided to eat at the first restaurant we spotted.  The first one was Hotel Saravana Bhavan, I let it pass.  Second one was Adayar Ananda Bhavan, let that pass too.  Third time’s a lucky charm they say, and sure it was! Spotted Welcome Hotel and stepped into it right away! Continue reading

Dallay, Velachery

I’ve been here a few times now, and my last visit to this place was many months ago.  I’ve written about the place a few times and I’ve blogged about it here and here, so I’m not starting all over again ! In short, Dallay, is just opposite to Phoenix Market city in Velachery and serves Tibetan cuisine. Continue reading

Sree Gupta Bhavan, Velachery

Since the time Sree Gupta Bhavan opened on the 100 Feet Road in Velachery, I’ve always liked this place. A brighlty lit place is hard to miss when you drive on this road. We finished some work and decided to have lunch here as kids were feeling hungry. Continue reading

Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai, Thuraipakkam

As our first choice Thalaserry Corner Thattukada didn’t materialize, because it was closed, myself and a friend decided to head towards OMR to check out some nice place to have dinner. It was quite late in the night, around 10:30PM and unfortunately most of the places were in the shutting-down mode. Quite disappointed, we headed back towards Velachery, and thats when we spotted the bright, welcoming, busy place in Thuraipakkam – Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai.  We were delighted to say the least! Continue reading

Hotel Crescent, Nungambakkam

What better than a non-vegetarian breakfast on a Sunday Morning ! Most of the places I know serve Idiyappam and Mutton Paya for breakfast. Since I have restrictions by choice to eating red meat, my friend suggested that I should head to Hotel Crescent in Nungambakkam for tasty Kerala Chicken dishes. In spite of hearing about this place, haven’t been there ever, so decided to tick this place off my list. I should admit that I have a liking for Kerala food, so there was no looking back. Continue reading

Sapthagiri Food Cart, Natesan Park, T Nagar

I have lost count of how many times I have eaten here, but till date, they dish out one of the best Nei(ghee) Podi Dosais in the city ! Based out of a Thalluvandi (foodcart), located adjacent to Natesan Park, diagonally opposite to Hotel Saravana Bhavan, Sapthagiri has withstood the test of time. Continue reading

DoAsai 2.0, Porur

Since the time it was first mentioned in Facebook food groups, DoAsai 2.0 was on my radar! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the colorful dosas loaded with cheese. Just that Porur is not one of the areas that I frequent, so had to wait for a while to tick it off! Continue reading
