Never have I had so much dilemma in choosing what to eat. Standing in front of these two shops, right next to each other in East Tambaram, whether it was Parotta or Biryani for lunch was the question. Love for Parotta won, and we decided to eat at M. K. N. Madurai Idly Kadai. Continue reading
The moment I heard from a few friends in food circles that a place called Eating Circles opened in C P Ramaswamy Road, and it serves the typical Bengaluru/Mysuru Benne Dosa, I decided to check it out right away! It has been a long search in Chennai to get the same texture of Benne Dosa, the typical Bengaluru CTR and MTR types. I can say with confidence that this is the closest, that I have had in Chennai! Everytime I have been here, it has been the same story – a minimum wait of 30-35 minutes to get a table and a steady stream of customers. Has my opinion of the place changed? Not really! Rayar’s Mess located in Arundale Street, in Mylapore is what we’re talking about ! Continue reading
Finally managed to visit this upscale bar, restobar, pub, however you’d like to call it, The Cycle Gap in Anna Nagar is the new happening place, and one of its kind in that locality. Last two weeks have been a bit busy, hence this review comes a couple of weeks late. Continue reading
The mere mention of the word ‘Biryani’ stirs emotions, in a positive way! With so many different styles of biryani based on geography, people get very possessive about ‘their’ style. Its been quite sometime that I blogged about my eating out, decided to write again!
This time, it was a quick visit to Orange Wok, in Velachery. We had just about an hour and a half before meeting someone, and didn’t want to venture too far away from Velachery. Remembered Orange Wok in the vicinity, decided to give it a shot! Continue reading
Weekend breakfast at Lloyds Tea House, a confusion of sorts ! Disappointed ! Continue reading
Catching up with a friend after a long time, needed a place to sit and talk at length, preferably sipping on cold ones and munching on some side-eats. Decided to go to The Right Place, a coffee-shop in The Residency. Its been a long time since I’ve been here. The Residency used to be one of our very regular hangouts since Tinto days, and for sometime after it changed to Black and White too. Continue reading
My good luck with Hotel Saravana Bhavan continues !
I have visited quite a few HSB outlets, and the ones that I frequent are Venkatnarayana Road and Alandur/Pazhavanthangal. In spite of all the complaints of drooping standards, mediocre food, etc, I have personally not faced anything worth complaining ! Yes, I am certainly of the opinion that they are pricey for the quantity they offer, but taste-wise, I’m quite satisfied. Continue reading
