Hotel Saravana Bhavan, Pazhavanthangal

My good luck with Hotel Saravana Bhavan continues !
I have visited quite a few HSB outlets, and the ones that I frequent are Venkatnarayana Road and Alandur/Pazhavanthangal. In spite of all the complaints of drooping standards, mediocre food, etc, I have personally not faced anything worth complaining ! Yes, I am certainly of the opinion that they are pricey for the quantity they offer, but taste-wise, I’m quite satisfied. Continue reading

Guntur Gongura, Sholinganallur

How can EVERYTHING go wrong in a meal?!?!? This beats me !
To sum up in a line, it would be ‘Average food coupled with bad service and even worse attitude‘ ! That’s my lunch experience at Guntur Gongura, Sholinganallur. Continue reading

Maggevala, Kodambakkam

I have been waiting to visit this place since the time they opened. Firstly, because there was a lot of noise on the food groups and people were raving about their dishes! Secondly, I was quite curious and surprised that someone would base their business predominantly on a product that had to go through lot of trouble because it failed lab tests by FSSAI for excessive Lead and MSG in it. After everything was sorted out, finally Maggi appeared in shelves in the stores. This restaurant primarily offers different variants of Maggi, and in different forms too. Continue reading

Pind, Velachery

Once upon a time, this was our favorite place for North-Indian/Punjabi food. Without a slightest hesitation, we would head there most of the time. Call it monotony, or whatever, we gradually stopped going here and it has been many months since I last visited. A friend and I were supposed to catch up with one of our friends who had come down from the US. We decided to try Pind for lunch. I was actually looking forward to the experience, just to see if it was still how I remembered it to be. Continue reading

Sandhya Mannpaanai Hotel, Batlagundu – Dindigul bypass

Wonderful homely lunch at Sandhya Mannpaanai Hotel, bang on the Bypass Road connecting Batlagundu and Dindigul. The place is roughly 10km after Batlagundu, on your left, when travelling towards Dindigul.  Continue reading

Surve’s Pure Non-Veg, FC Road, Pune

The foodie in me specifically searched for a nice Maharashtrian non-veg Thali and zeroed in on two places. Maratha Samrat and Surve’s Pure Non-Veg. Couldn’t make it to the former as we were delayed. So decided to go to Surve’s Pure Non-Veg on FC Road.  Continue reading
