Nasi Kandar Pelita, this used to be one of the very regular places for lunch almost 10 years back when I was working in an IT company in T Nagar. A gang of friends used to eat here, at least once or twice a week, for many many months. It used to be one of the most happening eating joints during those times. Continue reading
My sister’s family invited us out for a dinner outing and I was given the responsibility for choosing a restaurant. Decided to go to Shyam’s Bombay Halwa House as it was meant to be a vegetarian dinner. I’ve heard many things about this place, but never been here earlier. The location was pretty clear as I was quite familiar with this area, G N Chetty Road in particular. Continue reading
In all probability, I might be in the minority in calling this place ‘good, nothing extraordinary’ ! Finally managed to push myself to Absolute Barbecues, more than a year after they opened. I was quite keen on visiting this place as soon as they opened, but after a couple of unsuccessful attempts to reserve a table on phone, and a couple of failed walk-ins, I gave up. Since then I have never attempted to visit this place. Continue reading

Being a food blogger, restaurant/food reviewer or whatever they thought I was, I was asked to suggest a nice place. Nice ambience with good food was needed, and budget was not a big constraint. At the same time did not want to splurge in five-star hotels. Back of my mind, wanted to go to a place where I’ve not been before so I could write something about it 😉 Continue reading
Many years ago, our gang of friends used to be regulars at Black and White in The Residency and quite a few times, we’ve had dinner at Chin Chin. Continue reading
It has been quite a while since we ate out, and this was a decision taken consciously, in the aim of losing a few pounds. Today was a special day, and a very valid excuse to eating out – my Wedding Anniversary!
Since this restaurant was on the top of my to-do list, I did not have the slightest dilemma as to where to go. It was decided right away that Basil with a Twist it is! I called up in the afternoon and reserved a table for the four of us at 19:30 Hrs and we were good to go.
This restaurant has been in my mind for quite sometime now and recently, some talk about the place on Chennai Food Guide pushed me to visit it even quicker 🙂 Continue reading
