For quite sometime, I have been politely refusing invites from various PR Agencies to attend food festivals and blog about it, primarily because this space has become a bit too crowded, and the pleasure of interacting with the Chef, getting to know about the food, and patiently clicking pics before relishing the food is totally lost. When it is a personal invite from the Chef himself, there is NO reason to think twice! It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to try Vietnamese cuisine at Benjarong where Chef Ramkumar and Chef Nguyen Thi Nho from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, have together curated the menu for the food festival – ‘Flavours of Vietnam’. Four years ago, I have attended the very same food festival at Benjarong and blogged about it here. This time, I had a decent idea of what to expect. Continue reading
I’ve lost count of how many times I have visited this place!
Spoonbill on TTK Road has been one of my favorite places when you’re not in a mood for ‘normal’ lunch. Don’t feel like having North Indian, South-Indian, and kids like to have some sausages, and something different, we head to this place. Continue reading
There is a reason why people say abstinence is the only fool-proof way of losing weight. ‘Moderation’ is a myth as far as my eating out is concerned. You realize that when all meetings end with a lunch or dinner. It was one such day myself and a friend decided to have dinner after meeting another friend on Chamiers Road. Not knowing where to go, took a left into the TTK Road, and immediately spotted this place. Looked no further, decided to eat here ! Continue reading
Freez Zone on TTK Road has been a landmark for many years now. I like the ice creams here. Quite nominally priced compared to the exorbitantly priced recently opened International chains. I am not a very choosy icecream-crazy fan. So anything from Haagen Dasz to Arun Ice cream works for me 😀 Continue reading
First dinner with family in a restaurant this year! Not bad considering my diet plan 😉 Continue reading
It has been a long time plan and it finally happened today ! Momoyama done and dusted today 😛 Continue reading
I was invited to the Vietnamese Food Festival happening at Benjarong and frankly, I should say I was quite sceptical! This was because I do not eat sea-food and from what I remember, sea-food is a very important part of Vietnamese cuisine. I was assured that there was a nice balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and soon I was ready to try ! Somehow, In our place, Vietnamese cuisine is not as popular as their neighbouring cuisines, Chinese and Thai. While on the way to the restaurant, I was wondering if I knew anything more about Vietnam other than the badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh. Probably not 🙂 Continue reading
