Haven Sampoorna, Velachery

Haven Sampoorna is one of the very nice places for a vegetarian meal in Velachery and I’ve been there a few times already. On the occassion of my Daddy’s birthday, we decided to go here for lunch. Since it was meant to be vegetarian, didn’t think too much. Pind, Peaches and Haven Sampoorna were the places in my mind. Pind wasn’t easily accessible because of some road work, Peaches hasn’t been making any news lately, so decided to go to Haven Sampoorna instead ! Continue reading

Murugan Idli Shop, Velachery

Personally, after a couple of bad experiences with the T Nagar outlet, many years ago, I never really attempted to step into this place. It was more about the attitude of the waiters than the food itself. Their outlet in Kaveripakkam on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway was the one that got me visiting the place again. Mainland China, Phoenix Market City

The nearest option was Mainland China in Phoenix Market City. We have been here a few times and had a pretty decent experience, always. Decided to stick to this place. However, I spotted the Thuraipakkam outlet on Zomato serving dinner buffet, and was quite excited! We headed all the way from Velachery to Thuraipakkam only to be told its closed ! Damn it, even Zomato screws up sometimes! Made a U-turn and headed all the way back to Phoenix Market City. We lost a good 40 minutes doing this, and of course the to-and-fro toll charges that we paid for nothing ! Continue reading

Recently there has been a lot of interest among foodies on Facebook groups about this place, and I decided to check it out ! True to its name, Bistro 100 is more than just a cafe, the menu was elaborate and had a wide range of varieties to choose from. Continue reading
